• Curse Raid Tracker

What is the Curse Raid Tracker?

The Curse Raid Tracker is a WowStead raid administration system that helps you manage your guild’s raids, loot and attendance. It is targeted at raiding guilds of all levels who need help managing their day-to-day raiding.

    What is a DKP System?

DKP (Dragon Kill Points) systems are used by guilds to keep score and effectively distribute loot in a fair manner. In a traditional DKP system, players earn points (commonly called “DKP”) in the system and use those points to purchase items that drop from bosses.

    Loot System Types

Currently, there are numerous DKP systems utilized, and the Curse Raid Tracker strives to support most of the common systems. The Curse Raid Tracker 2 addon supports three types of DKP systems - Currency, Loot Council and Zero Sum. The Curse Raid Tracker web tool on WowStead also supports data from the EPGP system.

    • Currency

In a Currency system, players earn currency through boss kills, over time, per raid, or some combination thereof. Using this system, items are awarded through an auction or directly. Auctions can be open or private, and users have the ability to opt for a proxy bidding system (where the winner pays the 2nd highest bid price, plus one). Bids are conducted using our WhisperBidding system, where any user in the raid can interact with the DKP officer using whisper commands. Items can also be awarded directly, for a specified cost. This is handy for guilds that have fixed prices and don't want to bother with an auction system. It can also be used for offspec items in an auction system.

    • Loot Council

In a Loot Council system, no DKP is awarded or charged for items. The Curse Raid Tracker only tracks attendance and items won. Items are distributed by the DKP officer running the addon using the direct award function. This system best works for small guilds that do not use a DKP system but would like to keep track of their raids, and for large guilds that have an established Loot Council system.

    • Zero Sum

In a zero sum system, players earn DKP based on the amount of points spent on items or adjusted due to outside factors (such as being late). Any DKP that is spent is divided among the other raid members, ensuring that the overall amount of DKP in the group is zero. The purpose of the system is to prevent inflation. Like the Currency system, items can be awarded via auction or direct award.

    • EPGP

While the addon does not support EPGP, the Curse Raid Tracker web tool on WowStead can process and display EPGP data, for guilds that elect to use this system.

    Loot Manager

The Loot Manager is a feature of the in-game Curse Raid Tracker addon that was added in the latest version (v2). It streamlines how a guild distributes loot to the raid. If the DKP officer checks a corpse with a desirable item on it, the item is recorded by the loot manager. The quality threshold is determined by your master looter or in-game addon setting. The Curse Raid Tracker will only record items that are distributed using the Loot Manager - whoever actually picks up the loot from the corpse does not matter. This means a single person can loot all the items and distribute the items while clearing trash without cluttering up the Curse Raid Tracker's data!

Once you have items in the Loot Manager queue, you can distribute them to the loot system using one of three options - Auction, Award, Remove - using the icons on the item listing.

    • Auction

If you click the Auction icon, an auction will begin for the item. Players can use the WhisperBidding feature to bid on the item, and the highest bidder will be recorded by the Curse Raid Tracker as the item winner and will be charged accordingly. The item will then move to the "Awarded" tab, where the DKP officer can elect to cancel the auction or trigger a new auction. Auction will only be available using the Currency or Zero Sum systems.

    • Award

If you want to directly award the loot do a certain individual for a specified cost, click the Award icon. A pop-up will appear where you select the recipient of the item and can note how much the item costs. The item will then move to the "Awarded" tab, where the DKP officer can elect to cancel the award or award to a different person. This feature works well for fixed priced and loot council systems, as well as for off-spec items.

    • Remove

If you do not want this item to be tracked in the system, use the Remove icon to move the item to the "Removed" tab. If you click the Remove icon in the "Removed" tab, then the item will be permanently removed from the Loot Manager. Use this feature for disenchanted items and other items that you do not wish to show up in the Curse Raid Tracker system.

    Organizing Data using the CRT

The Curse Raid Tracker web tool can function as a standalone DKP tracker, or when partnered with the Curse Raid Tracker addon, works as a way to achieve unprecedented synchronization with in-game raiding data. The CRT works in a Pool - Raids - Transactions method, where transactional data is recorded during raids, and those raids are aggregated into a pool.

    • Pools

A pool aggregates data from your raids. Raids from different groups (ex: 25-man main raid vs. 10-man alt raid) go to different pools – that way data can be tracked for multiple groups without any conflicts.

    • Raids

A raid reflects data from one night’s worth of raiding. It could be your guild’s farm night or a night of attempts on Nefarian. A raid contains loot, attendees, boss kills and DKP transactions.

    • Transactions

A transaction is the building block of the system. An example of a transaction is someone winning a piece of loot for 50 DKP, earning 20 DKP for killing a boss or being penalized 10 DKP for arriving late.

    Why Use the CRT?

    • The CRT will be useful for guilds that are looking to track or manage their attendance, loot drops and other raid-related information. It is a flexible solution that allows you to do traditional manual tracking outside of the game or utilize the CRT addon to track in-game data.
    • The CRT is extremely flexible. Whether you use the add-on for a 25-man progression raid with complex fixed price & zero-sum systems or a smaller, casual raid that just wants to know what dropped and who got it, the CRT has you covered.
