My apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum, but I couldn't find one that seemed more appropriate than this!
I am resigning as GM of my guild and would like to transfer ownership and site control of our Wowstead website to my successor. Is that something I can / need to do through the Control Panel (and if so, how do I do this)? Or will it just happen automatically when the site notices he is GM?
Hello Dedralie, the guild leadership will automatically transfer as you suggest. This process can take a few days, however, so I suggest that you manually give them admin permissions until then.
User Groups. Add a Custom User Group (call it Site Admin or something). Assign full admin rights and save it. Then add the new GM's character to the User Group.
The new GM will need to make sure that their character is added to their account and verified in order to actually access the permissions.

we're having an issue where we want to add a second user to have site admin rights. But adding a user to the site admin group didn't work. Are you saying the characters have to be verified through the in-game thingy in order to have access to the admin pages on the web site?
The character does not need to be verified in order to be added to the custom user group, but they do need to be verified (full or guild-verified) and set as the active character in order to gain the permissions.

Hey Valdro. What is the name of the character you attempted to add to the new administrator group you created?
The guild that plays together stays together
The character does not need to be verified in order to be added to the custom user group, but they do need to be verified (full or guild-verified) and set as the active character in order to gain the permissions.
